Perhaps the most remarkable and distinguishable achievement of the Ranger Municipal Airport was in the year 1931 when the adventurous wings of Amelia Earhart touched the runways. One of the oldest airfields in Texas, this airport started its operation in early 1900s, with the first recorded visit from a Model B of Wright, in the year 1911. Since then it has been though a number of air pockets, so to say, but has stood firmly on its grounds to serve as one of the most historically significant air fields in the entire country of the USA. At present, the Ranger Municipal Airport boasts of hosting annual air shows, with exclusive arrangements for its participants as well as for the thousands of tourists who flock to the premises of the airport during the event
