The event Fürstenfeld is today with over 300,000 visitors per year nationally one of the most important cultural centers in Bavaria.Already in the 1960s, was in Fuerstenfeldbruck discussed about the insufficient space for cultural events. From 1974, began concrete discussions about the construction of a multipurpose hall. In March 1979, the city of Fürstenfeldbruck bought the farm buildings of the former Cistercian abbey monastery Fürstenfeld including 22 hectares of land from the Wittelsbach Compensation Fund then about seven million German marks. However, it should not take more than 20 years before the vision of a modern cultural and leisure center, including city hall fulfilled on historic ground. In October 1985, after several attempts was a consistent approach before - the cost of around 57 million DM, however, threw new problems. This was followed by an agreement on a solution in Section 1986, refusing the financing agreement 1988 amendment to the concept and new construction permit in 1989.
