Sandown Park is a unique racing experience; a stunning location, the course�s famous hill finishes combine to create an environment full of excitement and nail biting close finishes. You can soak up an electric atmosphere 26 times a year with our Jump and Flat racing seasons. The pinnacle of the calendar is the Gold Cup Meeting in April. The Flat Course is oval and run right handed. Races start from the far bend on the outside of the jumps track and then comes in to the inside track. A separate straight course runs acro ss the middle of the oval and is 5 furlongs in distance. All the home straights are steeply uphill. The Jumps Course also a right handed oval is 1 mile 5 furlongs in distance. There are 11 fairly tough fences but the bends are easy.
