Manezh is a well known exhibition hall that was set up in the cavalry arena and was designed by Giacomo Quarenghi and it is also known as the largest in St Petersburg. This venue is famous for hosting extensive art exhibitions and festivals as well as concerts of classical and contemporary music along with international exhibitions, the most significant of which are the Dialogues Biennial and the International Festival of Experimental Art. It has been into this business for the last 15 years and from that time onwards has been collecting contemporary works of art by St Petersburg based artists. Manezh is planned to become the basis of the future Museum of Contemporary Art and has been focusing on the 20th century artists.
